As Sunday night football approaches The Saints return to the Dome at 2-1 after splitting the west coast road trip against the Rams and Seahawks
The Cowboys come into New Orleans 3-0 and people are already talking them up to being the number one team in the NFC, this despite despite a very favorable schedule so far..
This game gives the Saints a chance of revenge after losing at the Cowboys last season in a frustrating low scoring game where a few favorable calls went in the cowboys favor, after that game the Saints seemed to lose its mojo on offense.
The Saints will still have Teddy Bridgewater at QB whilst Drew Brees recovers still from his injured thumb, however, as broken by Ian Rapoport this morning it seems that Sheldon Rankins will play after his torn Achilles, this is big news as the Saints D Line will need to be at its best tonight, pressuring Dak Prescott whenever they can. The Saints will also be without Will Clapp and Tre'quan Smith who are struggling with injuries so we will need Jared Cook particularly to have a breakout game and really kick off his season.
The Cowboys are also a little light at the WR spot with Michael Gallup out and Amari Cooper being limited all week, we could see a heavy ground attack by both teams which means having Rankins coming back today could be massive for the Saints as I imagine it's going to be a low scoring game with the running backs being the difference, look for Alvin Kamara to take the lead role for the Saints again today.
If the Saints win today it will very much put them in control of the NFC South as no other team have seems to have found any consistency and take advantage with Brees out.
Fingers crossed for a win today and we can get through this difficult start 3-1 which I would of taken with Brees let alone without him, the schedule looks a lot more favorable after this game......
I can't wait to see DeMario Davis pump this team up tonight pre game!
Final prediction Saints 23 - 17 Cowboys
