Week 8 Review - The GOAT returns......

It was like he had never been away......

Drew Brees returned from his thumb injury to lead the Saints to a 6th consecutive victory sweeping the Cardinals aside in a comfortable 31-9 victory.

Brees looked as good as always throwing for 373 yards and 3 TD's and hitting 9 different receivers, there was one interception on a weird deep shot to a double covered Zach Line but other than that he was almost perfect. The Brees to Michael Thomas connection was back as Thomas caught all 11 passes thrown his way for 112 yards and a TD, Thomas is currently on pace for over 140 catches and 1700 yards, this man is already underpaid!!

For the second time this season the Saints defence held an opponent to zero TD's and apart from a couple of trick plays they made Kyler Murray's life miserable sacking him four times, Cam Jordan is now up to 8 sacks on the year and Tre Hendrickson returned from a neck injury to record two sacks. The Saints extended their run of not allowing a 100 yard rusher and also did not allow 300 yards of offence for the 5th consecutive game. This defence is REALLY good.

A small concern is Wil Lutz missing another kick but I have faith he will return to his normal self after the bye

Speaking of the bye, it comes at a perfect time and will allow Kamara, Cook and Tre'quan Smith to get healthy and with four divisional games in a row after the bye we have a real chance to get to the 49ers game at 11-1 and a chance to compete for home field advantage which this year could be crucial.

Enjoy the bye week who dat nation and let's get ready for Falcons hate week.....
